[Video] 3 Year old Child thrown in to River rescued

A Sri Lankan woman who was alleged to have thrown her three-year-old youngest son to the Kalu Ganga River was arrested by the Kalutara police Womens and Childrens Bureau and was produced before the Kalutara additional magistrate. The woman was remanded till March 26 by the Kalutara Additional Magistrate Namal Perera.

She had told she tried to hand over the youngest child to a childrens home but she could not do so because the husband had kept the childs birth certificate with him.

Last Thursday she had brought the child to Kalutara and tried to desert the child for someone to take in charge. She had said the child had followed her and later she wanted to commit suicide by jumping into the river with the child.

However, after some time the child had fallen asleep and the mother had thrown him to the river during that moment. The child was later saved by a truck driver who saw the child floating in the river and dived from the bridge to save him.

The three-year-old-child is undergoing treatment at the emergency care unit of the Colombo Lady Ridgeway childrens hospital. dailymirror.lk

sick sick sick. Poor child died later on. If she didn't want the child and the orphanage couldn't take him she could of left him at hospital/police st. anything but do this. RIP little man

As a matter of fact, they may not even have money to go to a doctor when they fall sick ; or to rebuild their house if it burnt down or got damaged in a flood or to send their children to school. Do you honestly think that if these people know what CPR is, they would go and learn it ? And who would go to these people and teach them for free ? They live in world not like yours ; so please don't judge them. You don't have the right to do so.

@lucy0loves0music Yes, that's what's I see too Lucy. People doing their best to save a life even if they don't know exactly what they're supposed to do. They tried. They put in an effort. It's great to know that there people like them in the world.

@FareezLovesMe I'm with you. they are doing their best! they actually got out of their way to go try to save the child. there are some countries which name I won't say, where people just let people and animals die. of course proper CPR would have been better, but I thank god there are still good souls in this fucked up world.
