On the way to Texas I simply HAD to stop in Tennessee. I have been obsessed with the state ever since I can remember. I grew up loving country music and it seemed like every song was about either Tennessee or Texas.
Kenny Chesney is my favorite country singer and so I simply had to go visit East Tennessee State to see if there really was a Lambda Chi house like the one he mentioned in "Keg in the Closet." I did find an old Lambda Chi house....whether or not it was the one he referenced remains a mystery. Kenny, if you watch this help me out!
Another spot I had to find was the one mentioned in "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama. If anyone knows this song you know how amazing it is... if you haven't heard it you NEED to hear it SOON.
"Spend my dollar, parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight..."
Dark Hollow Road seemed to fit so sure enough I had to drive down it. It was everything like the song said it would be. There was a grove of trees below a mountain with this Dark Hollow Road running right through it. It would seem like the perfect place for
"homegrown country girl, gonna give me a whirl.. on a Tennessee Saturday night..."
something like that to happen. Now certainly this probably wasn't the exact spot that Alabama was talking about but Tennessee is FULL of places like this and no doubt this spot was one of the best!!
Next stop in Part 3.... THE GREAT SMOKEY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK AND GOOD OL ROCKY TOP!!!!!
Hey man,
Yea, thats it. I was a Sig Ep at State and that is the house. I also know that to be true because that is my wife's GG Grandfathers house.

yes it is the house that was the LCA house for many years.....are you a brother of our fraternity?

No, but I'm a huge Kenny Chesney fan and the LCA's at my school sang this song arm in arm with lots of beer all the time... it was good fun. I had to come see it, I had to see if what he sang about in "Keg in the Closet" was real. I am glad this was the place!!!!!
