I made this promo for one of my fav movies. Set in 1969, Chris is a twelve-year-old boy (David Arnott) growing up in Key West with his mother (Goldie Hawn). She double jobs as a waitress, and secretly as a niteclub dancer, to make ends meet. Chris hates that she dances, and decides to try make some big money all by himself. Discovering a source of cocaine, and realising how much it is worth, he begins secretly dealing at the beachfront where life gets real interesting real fast. Directed by Chris Menges.

I never understood how this kid got more drugs after initially finding them in the fish. Or is that a hole in the story plot.

@inkey2 Didn't he arrange for his pals to steal the fish from his "fish run". It's been a while since I watched this - but I think those two boys who hold him up at knife point and take the fish (drugs) were doing it because he asked them to.

@Waterdragonspidey the guy in the restaurant was running drugs inside raw fish - the fish got stolen from Chris. So he was quite annoyed. Chris was in the club 'cos his suspected his Mum was a dancer. He was right. He put the lizard on his lips 'cos he's 12 and that's the sorta thing 12 y/o boys do!

I saw it yesterday - it reminds me of American Heart with E. Furlong and J. Bridges but the director is an english. It should stay for a long ...
