@quasiphatpaul & @LUNATIC75 It was my first PC game ever too! I knew absolutely nothing about computers when I bought the game, but after a week of tinkering and tweaking I finally got it to work. I have to credit this game with my love of Star Wars and my love of programming. Without the initial motivation to play my game, I would have never even attempted to learn all I know about computers now. Thanks, Lucasarts!

@SindarinElealar Actually... The X-Wing was not a piece of Rebel engineering at all. It was stolen Imperial technology. (Read your books, dude. :P) I have no idea why the Empire wouldn't have continued to use it even though it was stolen... Who's bright idea was it to stick with TIEs that could be ripped apart with only a few shots instead of the shielded beast? :P

@Poojawamanthing They actually did that a few years after it was released. They made a re-release called X-Wing 95. It used the XvT game engine. But I do agree with you that they should make another game like this. After you've played X-Wing, TIE, XvT, BoP, and XW:A 100 times each, they get a bit old. Time for a new one... Hopefully it will be as easy to make custom missions (anyone remember Troy Dangerfield's editors?) as it was in all those old ones if they do it.

This game needs to be rebirthed with only an updated engine and graphics. With tweak of the scripts to allow more ships on screen at a time.
