From KETC, LIVING ST. LOUIS Producer Patrick Murphy looks back at the history of the famous aluminum Airstream trailer. Created by Wally Baym in the 1950s, the Airstream has been cruising American highways for more than 50 years. In the post-WWII period, it offered Americans a chance to pull their dreams behind them and see the world. An exhibit at the Sheldon art gallery features the Airstream as not only transportation, but a magnificent display of art and architecture. Its sleek design and modernity reflects optimism and the American dream.
Airstreams are so awsome.
