@skulblaka92 I personally found the book to be the best of the Brontes work but it does have some problems. For me personally, I found it less problematic than other novels (though i loved Villette when I was a teenager) but I read it when I was older than when I read their other works by which point, I'd got a bit tired of victorian gothic/general romance.

@jrmetmoi You are so right, I understand. I was not in any way putting anyone down because of the choices they make in an abusive situation. I was only speaking from my experiences in life. I have a love one who chose to stay from fear & no where to go.

In my case, that woke something deep inside of me that, that man could not handle, it terrified him. The fear in me was gone & the old fighter in me had returned. I left before I would spend the rest of my life in prison & he was 6 ft. under.

Beautiful ending, great acting by all. If an actor can make you hate him by just pretending, then he deserves an award.

Sadly, this depicts life for a lot of women in those times and before, and down to our present time. It takes abuse of the children for some women to finally literally run.
