Let's play Revolution Software's adventure game "Broken Sword 1 Shadow of the Templars" CD talkie voice version. This is part 1 and includes the intro.

The story includes a murder mystery which interweaves the Knights Templar history and the Holy Grail. Much like Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, though this game was released several years before the book and is much better.

Please remember that speedplays do not give the games any justice. This point and click adventure is by far THE BEST GAME out there, hands down. Other games are fucking clown shoes compared to this. Due to technical issues I haven't been able to post the gameplay and probably will run into some more down the road. For now enjoy this timeless classic.

P.s. I'm a video game nerd, and I'm proud of it...

  • god, this takes me back to college! I bought it just before my 19th birthday, and when I heard the opening lines, I fell in love with it. It was the fall of '99 for me, and, on rainy days, I still take out this game and play it!

  • @mysticrain1980 Cool, yeah this game is amazing.

  • Do the GBA or DS versions of this game have voice acting? I've owned this on PC for many, may years, but I travel a lot, so I'd love to have a portable version of this game. Only if it has the voice acting, though. I'd miss it too much were it missing.

  • @Spac42 I dont know. but i'm gessing that it does not have the voice acting.

  • this game to me about 7 years to complete, first time I played it I was about 11 or 12. I remember getting chills while watching this opening scene and also have nightmares about the clown. I also remember being terrified going down into the sewers :P..

it was only later when i was about fifteen that I had the guts to play through the whole game. But this opening scene brings a tear to my eye and the felling i get from it is just indescribable.

Btw that cat in the alley gets me every time:P

  • @yakuzamadddogg Haha yeah I sucked too! But it's a really difficult game. Man, I get so nostalgic when I watch this, kind of sad in a way. It's kind of depressing because it feels like there never will be a game like this again. It's such an incredible adventure. It has everything, great dialogue, charming music and characters, it's scary, funny, unpredictable, difficult puzzles, great atmosphere and the list goes on. There is no game that has affected me in the same way. An excellent adventure!
