  • There are more immediate threats to the Javan rhino. First of all, it just became extinct in Vietnam, so the only place it remains is Ujung Kulon National Park on the western tip of Java. There is threaten by an imbalanced sex ratio of 3:2, and competition for food from banteng. Its current population is placed anywhere from 44 to 60. If it is 60, then it has gone beyond its environmental carrying capacity. It has been proposed to reintroducing it into Gunung Leuser National Park on Sumatra
