Tell me whatever, sir. I'm in no way shape or form a shrinking violet.

Don't be desolated... no biggie...

But I still disagree about Coal VS Nuke. Nuke has many more VERY dangerous obstacles.

The chance of another Chernobil against hundreds and hundred of plants burning whole forests' worth of coal every day for the last century. A few hundred tons of glow-in-the-dark garbage against acid rain and global warming. Hundreds and maybe thousands of death from coal mining against a few cancers.

Both are shit but the coal shit is more damaging right now.

I agree... but you said the "coal shit is more damaging right now."

Which is only because we don't have more Nuke plants... I can only imagine Terrorist knocking out a Nuke Plant... Devastating.

Babe, all you need is a mortar and a pick up truck. You don't need to cause a Chernobyl, all you need is to put it out of commission for a while. Repeat it a few times and you shut down the power grid for the entire country.

They are just too delicate , everything is too interlinked.

Osama should have sent his 9/11 terrorists to blow up a nuke plant in the NY area. Imagine a Chernobyl there.

I agree. Our Energy Infrastructure is one of the worst in relationship to all other Countries at or approximately at our level of Technology.

you're right on one point, with a nuke plant there's a CHANCE that things could go wrong, but with coal, there's a CERTAINTY that things will be fucked up.
The Swedes are developing deep mountain storage for nuke waste, in the nothern part of their country where nobody lives. Of course, that might seep into the water, or come into the environment somehow, but they below the caves is nothing but rock and hot lava, so .... Who knows?

Maybe we could use Antarctica, or some spot in the Sahara. That poison IS poison.

I have seen an industrial city from a distance. It was under a cloud of smoke. Polution. My mother is not the nicest person in the world, nor the most caring. She told me and my brothers. When I see that I feel like they should drop the nukes and end it all.

We can put all the nuclear garbage ever produced under a solid mountain and forget it. 2000 coal plants spewing poison scare me.

Now who was harassing him is open to debate. It's like The Prisoner: Who is Imprisoning/harassing him? The "bad guys" would be a natural deduction. The "good guys" might too, because he knows too much.

I agree that Electric Cars are the future, but from my research, it seems Fuel Cells are complete BS. The technology is no where even close to being useable.

Hydrogen is just a way that the oil companies can stay in the game, producing something you have to buy from them.

Hydrogen can be produced by some algae, with advances in Bio-tech it might be possible to engineer bacteria that consume waste and produce hydrogen, it would solve 2 problems but open up a new can of bio ethics.

xdir:

I got this off of the "Who Killed The Electric Car" DVD last night:

It takes 3 to 4 times more energy to run a Fuel Cell.

5 Miracles for a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car
1) Current Fuel Cell costs 1,000,000
2) Not enough room for Hydrogen Fuel No material known to man can store enough fuel to give the range people want on board the car
3) The Fuel is wildly expensive Even Fuel from dirty Fossil Fuel is 2 to 3 times more than gas
4) No Infrastructure
5) Competing Technology must NOT improve.
