It was a bit of a shock to me to hear Joe Brown singing this after all these years...the problem has always been with us, it's just that now, the vandals are more physically healthy, and have no fear or respect for the Police...they were scared of authority at one time, but not now. Anything goes.

The lad called John in this video is very, likely going out with his mates to get up to mischief and end up in trouble with the police silly boy. Antisocial behaviur has always been around, it always will be sadly . I know the jacket John is wearing, is similar to the two I once had in the 80s. My jacket was not as gaudy or as plaid as John's is in this video, I think John is a very naughty lad who will get into trouble with those other lads silly boy.

I think the jacket the lad John is wearing is not too bad in colour, I had two jackets like his not the same colour. John is clearly up to no good, he is going out to get into mischief with his cronies. He is also likely to get a police record, mind you more youngsters don't play out as much in the streets as they did then, I think more young people are inclined to stay indoors and play on computers rather than go out to all hours.

I rememer this advert really well, with that lad John putting on that plaid jacket and going out with his mates to cause trouble and basically misbehave. I am surprised adverts like this are not, shown on today's televevision which is a shame and a great pity but never mind. I seem to recognise the face of the lad playing John in this video. I can't think where I have seen him or whether he still acts,I have no way of telling never mind.

I remember this advert with the lad john putting on his jacket and going out then hearing the bottle smash . I think john was going out with his mates to cause trouble and behave antisocially with his chums . It shows anti social behavior has always been around in this world .

Love this PIF! It's kind of freaky! I'm from the United States, and here we call them Public Service Announcements, or PSAs. We don't have very many anti-vandalism PSAs, unfortunately. We DID used to have a TV/Radio campaign similar to this one in the 80's and 90's. During the late-night station breaks an ominous voice would say, "It's 10:00. Do you know where YOUR children are??" On TV there would be no film, just the station logo and the announcer's voice! It freaked alot of parents out!

No film, just the VO speaking over a shot of the station logo. That ad frwaked alot of parfents out, I understand.
Kinda takes the menace/fear element out of the film when it's got a George Formby style tune playing over the top of it..

If you listen to the full song ("What a Crazy World We're Living In" by Joe Brown) in the last verse the narrator gets arrested for thieving and cheerfully tells the police his parents won't care ...
