Many of us would like to blame...someone else, someone more powerful, someone less like us, someone who's dead for all the things wrong today, but truth be told, it is us. It is within us and around us, at all times, the answers we seek, the answers to our pain, our loneliness, our contempt. If we cannot see, we will not change. It is important to set aside the layers of our ego to find what is inside; herein lies the key of life.

in short, we (our forefathers) should have been nicer, but they weren't. we can't change what happened but we (people in general) should understand that it could have been even worse than it was.

i didn't say it as good or bad, nor a badge of honor. it is simply what has happened. as for the we and them, i was referring to us as in americans and them as the native americans. idiots like you make it difficult to have a serious conversation because they jump to conclusions. my comment had nothing to do with these races presently, it is simply what happened and that it could have been worse.this came as a rebuttal to many complaining that natives were not catered to better.

@NihilistMonk Your choice of words betrays a common prejudice among white people today. You say "we" and "them". By "we" I assume you mean white Americans and by "them" you mean Native Americans, who are actually just Americans now. You are claiming a violent and racist history as your own as if it were some badge of honor. I am white. I have nothing to do with my grandparrents attitude towards non-whites. Idiots like you make other people angry with innocent people like me.

@TheFlutevisions Whether the end is near or not, the difference between me and you is that I dont pretend to know. So you may be right, in which case I feel bad for you and for me. If you are wrong I also feel bad for you. You dont seem to be taking responsability for your species. I don't want mankind to die. I want mankind to be happy and at peace with themselves and the Earth.

The end is near for man

calm down, the atrocities committed against the native americans are no more worse than any other war. the difference is we proposed to help them, the simple fact that anything was given to them is amazing at best. they could have just been all killed off .

@StreetLethalRacing NO LAND WAS GIVEN TO THEM. WE STOLE ALL THEIR LAND AND THEN ALLOWED THEM TO LIVE ON A PORTION SO LONG AS IT WAS ON OUR TERMS. DO YOU THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE TO, OR EVEN CARE ABOUT TAXES? THEIR ENTIRE WAY OF LIFE WAS DESTROYED. THEIR LAND WAS DESTROYED AND MOST OF THEM WERE DESTROYED. AMERICA DIDN'T EVEN EXIST? THE LAND DIDN'T POP UP ONCE WE SHOWED UP. "ITS NEVER ENOUGH." BULL SHIT. IF THE CHINESE TOOK OVER AND PUT US ON RESERVATIONS WOULDN'T YOU BITCH ABOUT IT? YOURE A JOKE.
I love this video and Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman, the narrator of this film & a Dakota Sioux Indian. He played the Chief in Dances with Wolves. He is/was a renowed actor, singer, songwriter and environmental activist. As a youth, he attended an off-reservation elementary school where he was forced to cut his hair & forbidden to speak his native language. This would profoundly impact his later life. He is much loved & 4ever remembered. He died in 2007. R.I.P. Red Crow.

If I could choose where and when I was born, it would be in pre-Columbian America. The Native Americans had the best views of the universe. Such a pity to see them dwindle.
