The St. Petersglocke (St. Peter's Bell) is located in Cologne Cathedral.
This is the largest free-swinging bell in the world, and was the largest swinging bell period from 1923 to 1999.
This bell's preceeder, the "Gloriosa" of Cologne Cathedral (weighing 27,800 kg or 61,300 lbs) was destroyed in 1918 for war munitions.
The weight of the present bell is 24,000 kg (52,900 lbs).
The diameter of this bell is 322 cm (127 in.).
The pitch of this bell is C-.
This bell is swung on the major Catholic holidays (as well as the eves of these holidays), and the dawn of the New Year.
