  • @erjones93 how come?

  • @renovatio1988

"Do rely on the grace and Spirit of god, instead of your ability to "rationalize."

This is oddly revealing. How can you reason yourself out of a position you did not reason yourself into? Seriously. It is logic and reason that should be used to determine whether or not a god is likely to exist. If you dump reason and stop rationalizing, you lose your path to truth.

If you only have faith, you cant distinguish between any of the religions. You are believing what feels good.

  • veritas christo et ecclesiae

  • This is not to say there are not things to appeal to. Paul writes that everyone has a knowledge of God they deny. They squash. They say "what God". I don't see him. I need empirical evidence! As if that would change anything, even if one saw visual manifestations of Him. "That was a trick my brain played". The falleness of the mind is more desperate and sick then we perceive. Do rely on the grace and the Spirit of God, instead of your ability to "rationalize". Oh ya check out Cornelius Van Till!

  • It's interesting how so many here are arguing the existence of God. I do not believe that is what Piper is getting at here. It is a thinking, within the Christian life, that is founded on the principles of Scripture and seeing the implications of them. Not really apologetic. To all who pursue debating against non believers, (and pursue it you may!) do understand that the unregenerate mind will pursue a system of logic consistent with its own accepted ideas, as do you.

  • I will pass on this conference, I do not care for the "purposeful teachings" or those that would associate themselves with this kind of worldly thinking.

Beware! The purpose of Rick Warren is to destroy churches. It happened to my church and others as well.

Praying for you JP, that this veil over your heart will be lifted.

  • A person can be very well qualified academically in most fields of research, but if Christianity captures and enslaves one’s mind, then one loses direction of the path to truth.

  • I have heard it said, "If you try to void your mind, you will either get a devil, or you'll get a problem." You have eight hours to sleep at night, that's when your body needs rest. If you don't exercise your physical muscles, you lose it. Your mind is like a muscle, if you don't think for the glory of God, you'll lose your mind. God gave you your mind for a reason, so use it for his glory.

  • no...not rick warren...rick warren is a heretic!!!

  • Love GOD!!! Love your neighbor as yourself. The LAW is summed up in the GOSPEL.
