Carbonated.TV had the opportunity to speak with Stephen Dorff about his role in the new Sofia Coppola film, Somewhere. Stephen plays Johnny Marco, an actor who's rise to worldwide fame has led him to loneliness, excessive drinking, and an empty rock star lifestyle. When he is forced to become the sole caretaker of his 11-year old daughter, played by Elle Fanning, Johnny is forced to grow up and become the mature father he has neglected to be for the passed 11 years. In this transformation, Johnny finds worth in his life and he realizes his daughter gives his live a sense of worth that he hasn't felt in a very long time, if ever. It is a true father daughter story and the characters are uniquely portrayed with a realistic simplicity unseen in any previous film. In our interview, Stephen talks about the loneliness and isolation that many actors feel during the period between filming projects, how Sofia's skills as a director and writer truly captured the essence of the story, and how one day he hopes to make a family of his own.

Stephen is allot deeper than I thought he'd be. Elle is very lovable, and Sophia will receive the accolades she's earned. So much talent in one movie.
