To further promote the importance of cybersafety in schools, the ACMA has developed a cybersafety program for pre-service teachers at university. The program, consisting of a 60 minute resource lecture and 90 minute tutorial, was successfully piloted at Australian Catholic University in Sydney and officially launched at Deakin University in Melbourne on 10 June 2010. It is now available free to all universities throughout Australia.
This interactive and cutting edge program is aimed at equipping pre-service teachers with skills, knowledge and confidence to educate their future students about cybersafety. Topics covered include cyberbullying, sexting, safe social networking, identity protection and Cybersmart citizenship.
