  • Jesus being divine and human IS a contradiction because being human excludes being divine, by definition. In other words Jesus is divine and human = Jesus is divine and not divine. I totally agree about the assessment of Abraham as a nutjob. I wonder how he would have explained his action to Mrs Abraham if he had not been prevented by an angel from murdering her son. (Sad to hear Whitney Houston in the background.)

  • I love the inclusion of Woody Allen from "Love and Death" - one of the funniest movies Ive ever seen.

  • I want more life.. FATHER! (Blade runner)

  • If your philosophy is chained to the worship of logic and reason, then Kierkegaard is not your man.

The host asks why we should ever make a leap of faith. You make a leap of faith in the interest of challenging a commonly-accepted premise. Just because something is logically valid doesn't mean it's true.

  • @TennisAnnalyst

The difference though is that if agemnon's sacrifice had a clear and logical goal, to help ensure victory against eh trojans. Abarham goes above this because sacrificing the innocent isaac whom he loved deeply accomplished no goal what so ever.

  • @SSJ4ChunkyMonkey Yes, it is!

  • Was the Woody Allen in the beginning?

  • your voices are impossibly annoying, you sound like cartoon characters

  • In the question posed: "Why was Abraham better than Agamemnon?" The answer given is incredibly weak from a philosophical POV and only makes sense through a Judeo-Christian view point. Traditional morality (probably perceived to be handed down by a deity of some kind) vs religious duty (as thought to be handed down by the Judeo-Christian God). So this argument appears to be more about whose God is the right God than about any other moral issue (if my supposition on Agamemnon is correct).

  • Fuck this shit, i have an exam on this guy tomorrow. thank mother nature for this documentary to be on youtube cos i dont wanna read all the lectures my teacher gave us
