This is a close up view of my survival essentials kit. Hopefully there will be some ideas that pique your interest that can be incorporated into your kit.

Before I get a lot of comments . . . Yes there is no food. My survival goal is to deal with the most immediate life threats: water, fire and shelter from the elements. Most of us will survive a fairly long period of time without food, this is not the case for dehydration and exposure.

I'm looking forward to your input and invite you to send a video response with your kit!

Part 3 of 3 - Last part . . . thanks for hanging in there!

Happy New Year to all subscribers! This Bunker Chat covers some history of my YT channel and anticipated direction for the future.

  • I might have missed it, but a button compass or larger would be useful in this type of kit. Nice assembly of gear, I took some things from it and thanks for the video!

  • @1IdeaAhead - button compass is in the Adventure Medical survival kit.

  • One possible way of preventing the Bic's from losing fuel due to the switch being hit would be to use a small zip tie around and under the switch preventing it from going into the "on" position. Might work, might not, worth trying?

  • @ThePracticalPatriot - good idea. I need to break that kit open and formally check the lighter. So far it seems to be holding well bit I would hate a surprise when the need comes to count on the lighter.

  • This is one of the BEST survival kits that I've seen on youtube !

  • Great stuff! One thing: if you're going to vacuum seal your Bic lighter make sure that the gas valve doesn't open when the bag tightens down around it. I'd recommend either a case that you can insert a Bic into or a childproof version, if you can still find them. The childproof ones are easily rendered "unsafe" with a knife, or your teeth in a pinch.

  • Very nice

  • really cool and good survival kit

    Nice review!

  • DAMN IT i cant find the bad ass button

  • These vids are helping me so much with becoming an Eagle Scout.

  • The whole video I'm waiting for you to tell us how you open the sealed bags and remove the zip tie.

  • Doc what type of vacuum sealer do you uses? Outstanding video!
