In a time before events chronicled in the original three-volume graphic novel series, THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES (published 2001-2003), and preceding events from THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES: PROCLIVITY (available online as a prequel story to the actual film), characters from the franchise appear in this short-film adventure THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES: GENESIS OF EVIL, from award-winning writer/creator/executive producer Bryan J. Kinnaird.
In a forbidden militarized quadrant, a slave girl was marooned on a hostile world used as a dumping ground for exiled soldiers by its planetary czar, HIGH ADMIRAL SKRYTON. Apprenticed in fighting by exiled assassin LORD JASTA, and in search of her own identity, the legendary warrioress MYSTERE embarked upon a pilgrimage to the most poorly explored regions of planet ITASCA. Gallivanting across the Desert Gulf, she ventured into a frontier where an ancient Wiccan society offered asylum and ordained her as a tribal huntress. But factions of the sisterhood harbored a secret of evil and eventual misfortune in a cave outside the HADAMAH DUNES.
Mystere's sisterhood mentors, BREMUSA and LYKOPSIS, held captive their former leader, DIDO. Dido was infected while on a hunt, a hunt where she encountered a horrific creature. A creature carrying a viral Porphyrian strain of DNA, a strain designed by High Admiral Skryton's own Commodore of Science, SIMON MAGNUS. In essence, Dido became the daughter breed of a failed military experiment, PROJECT CREIGHTON; an experiment in humanoid weapon genetics - a life form intended for secret insertion into societies of enemy factions as a cannibal with an appetite controlled by its creators.
Bremusa and Lykopsis hid Dido from their tribe, taunted and used her in ceremonies to instill the ancient CRAFT OF ZEMLYA within newly ordained huntresses. While Mystere was exposed to Dido in a devotional exercise allowing one's senses to temporarily conjoin with the essence of other creatures, the ceremony went awry and Dido broke free from bondage to afflict Porphyrian transformation upon the tribe. Meanwhile, sensing Mystere might be in danger, Lord Jasta was tracking his protégé across every treacherous region of the planet. It is here, where fate suddenly places Lord Jasta in the location of Mystere's greatest need for help, that the film "GENESIS OF EVIL" begins.
Occurring approximately four years before events depicted in the popular graphic novel series, THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES, Lord Jasta, Mystere, and the mysteriously deceptive Bremusa fight and flee from the hybridized tribe. Meanwhile, in deep space, captain of the PROVIDENCE, revered military leader and war hero KORT VILLIKON, is away on leave. In his absence, a deviant commander and evil conspirator, MALCOLM VISMAL, commences with deviation of the warship from its assigned sector. Vismal engages in an illegal planetary extraction of convict Lord Jasta and Jasta's detected female companions. But not all of Villikon's crew lackey so willingly to the renegade orders of High Admiral Skryton, who precariously delegates uncensored commands to Vismal without government approval and always from a secret orbit on the dark side of Itasca. Villikon crew loyalist, his 2nd Lieutenant, TABINA TANZER, questions Vismal's retrieval of the trio and further interrogation tactics and quarantine of the captives. In a riveting climactic endgame, Lord Jasta allies with a formidable proponent, a surprising twist in character development; a character who is suddenly not what they originally appeared to be, and while executing a plan for re-escape, Jasta toils with abandoning his newfound entrance and freedom into the civilized galaxy, albeit perceived freedom aboard Providence (and a paradoxal freedom at that), with life in stockade or existence perhaps better lived incomprehensibly in exile on a world at the threshold of barbarism.
