I had the good fortune to see and hear Hilary Hahn and Valentina Lisitsa at the Chicago Symphony Hall last October 2011. My first classical concert. Both ladies were so charming
and dazzling with their talents. What fine examples of musicianship dedication to craft and elegance.

@itsGratisFreebies dont worry, the second movement is semi-easy, just tough to play it as good as hahn though. however, the first movement is a challenge, though not impossible for an adept to learn... just takes time.

kent nagano is the conductor? didn't expect that.

@andrewlovesminecraft I was just messing around :). Congrats on being in love with Minnie Craft! I bet she loves you back.

@blogegog They're not supposed to clap between movements

Nobody clapped! How rude.

This version is by far my favorite. So clean and soul fulfilling.

@cornel999 I'm a trumpeter, and when I read about your 4th finger, I thought "huh"? :)

The conductor is not Natalie Zhu, Ms Zhu is a pianist & not appear in this performance.

bravísimo
HEY! Natalie Zhu is a pianist! This is Kent Nagano conducting!

@1disturbia1 That's because the piece is modern. People who think she's "out of tune" actually don't have any appreciation for compositions that stray from the diatonic scale. They are probably wondering why all of the orchestral instruments are "out of tune" as well. Keep developing that musical ear of yours, but you're obviously on the right path: her intonation is spot-on. Hahn is one of the few masters of our generation, along with Jansen and Shaham.
