There's a reason I didn't use the word 'fundamentalist'. I know what that word really means. I said 'radical'. And neither book actually calls for the death of anyone whether they are believers or not. The Qur'an actually speaks against force conversion. It also talks about self-defense and combatting oppression. You are making the same misinterpretations as the terrorists who take scripture out of context to justify their own wills for political reasons.

That's just the thing, the fundamentalists of both groups are called that for a reason: they adhere to the fundamentals of the religion. The literal scriptures of both are indeed hateful. Christianity, without our modern moral changes, is violent and bigoted. Islam is the same, and also calls for anyone who is not of Islam to either be converted or killed.

This is not a misunderstanding, it is what the scripture calls for. I am not saying that all followers adhere to it.

I didn't say Christianity itself was intolerant. i actually said the opposite. The problem is people who believe and follow a particular interpretation of Christian scripture. Don't lump all Muslims in with homophobes. Yes, there is a large portion of Mulims (people) like Christians (people) who share this bigottry against homosexualty. But Islam also shares the list with evolution, science, and homosexuality as misunderstood targets of socio-political agendas particularly in the US.
