Sharpening steel keep the edge on a knife. And its said that a sharp knife is a safe one. This video shows you how to use a honer on your knife and how to use your knife to chop an onion.   • @heartlessvietboy Yeah the square ones are easier to cut too.

  • Round Onions are not good for your health. Cooking or Drying them reduces harmful ions tremendously.

  • I disagree with your comment about replacing a steel once its ridges have worn. after theyre worn the steel gets better.

  • I disagree with your comment about replacing a steel once it's ridges have worn smooth. A smooth steel is just as good for it's purpose as a ridged steel.

    After cutting with a blade the edge will not be straight under a microscope: some waves show where the edge has been bent. The steel is used to push that wavy edge upright. You should only use LIGHT pressure when drawing the edge of the blade across the steel, alternating sides. The pressure should get less with each draw.
