Daniel Harris plays his slightly modified version of Classical Gas. Watch it all for the good stuff.

  • wow, this is the best rendition I've heard on YouTube. Favorited and subscribed!

  • @filostyliZticZ

Wow! That is quite a compliment. Thank you.

  • Somewhere between Mason and Tommy. Well done.

  • @MrMZaccone

Thanks for the compliment. I am a big fan of both Mason and Tommy. It's very kind of you to stop by and comment. Thanks.

  • Excellent. Just excellent! One of the better covers of this I've seen on You Tube. Timing and tempo are spot on.

  • @simonday147

Thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated. -Peace-

  • I'm totally puzzled and scratching my head here wondering what lucidwebpress is talking about...I've listened to hundreds of others play this..both professionals and amateurs and it seems very few come close to the expression and feeling Dan here brings to it..not to mention the near perfect timing, fluidity, clarity, and articulation. But, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

  • Dan, I love how you much you're enjoying the experience of playing this song--that's what great art is all about: not impressing other people (though you've managed to impress a lot of people), not trying to be "great" (you are great); simply being one with the music.

  • LOL at 1:48 Feeling it much.

  • that was truly incredible, i can tell when you were playing it something took over you that just made you one with your guitar. you played it beautifully. LIKED!

  • @philosophy7575

The one with the orchestra. But, Dan here does something I truly appreciate.

  • @slowdog45

I think I know what you mean. But, which original? The solo, or the one with the orchestra? Mason Williams himself has recorded multiple renditions and allowed the piece to evolve. Every time the sheet music is published, it has adjustments. Are you including measures 45 to 54 of the orchestrated version which Mason did not even compose? I have played Classical Gas for almost 15 years. When it's been that long, it's hard to not tweak a few things.

    Peace-

  • Can't watch it without reverting to the original.

  • Hi Dan, my compliments, i have rarely heard someone playing with that much feeling.

  • i was very skeptic when i first clicked on this video and cant believe how amazed i am now.. that truly was an awesome job bro
