Why is the Focus RS front wheel drive not four wheel drive?

@nriqueog the "US" does not have to suffer with a "GLOBAL" product, as you have probably come to realise the focus RS was never even sold in the US! It was a European car built by Ford Europe and a car it is! No need for AWD and RWD would have made it useless. 80% of European cars are FWD, why is it Amrricans think that because Ford spawned from the US that they can't make cars for any other market? @ArchRivalNeo rwd is a big propshaft and diff at the back. still heavy.. and a for d focus with rwd? no... its based as a rally car.. fwd in a ford focus is better than rwd in a ford focus.. it handles the power fine. no need for awd or rwd..

If they can't do AWD, then why not RWD? Isn't that more suited for higher hp neway?

I know there are challenges that come with turning the Focus into AWD...but if they can do it for the WRC Focus then they can do it for the production RS.
