  • What a poorley produced program

  • I should have never commented at all. I was using sarcasim... Obama making the statement that the U.S has 57 states. I know there are only 50 but our president read his Prompter wrong evidently.

  • It's a good example because my local fire and police are not on the fed. payroll either. They sometimes receive fed. grant money, but a lot private institutions do as well.

FSU gets billions of dollars from the fed. gov. but they are not a fed. agency. They have to abide by federal laws, but they are not a fed. agency.

NASA has proven that pouring endless resources into something can make it work. The fed. gov. is effective, not efficient.

  • When Kobe Bryant misses a three-point shot 13 people aren't disintergrated. NASA doesn't just have 'accidents', they make careless mistakes.

  • There are fed. standard in training. However, again police and fire are not fed. agencies.

FBI can claim jurisdiction to take over a case... however, they have absolutely no authority to give orders to local and state police. Where do you get your information? Watching CSI Miami?

The FBI can subpoena information, then local or state authorities are compelled to hand over the information.

  • Your thing about NASA pissed me off. NASA is doing things noone thought possible. And until NASA did it it was deemed impossible. They are the first to do these things. Of course there will be accedents. NOONE HAS EVER DONE IT. To say they are mediocer is like saying Kobe Bryant is mediocer because in a bad game he shot 30% from the line. It dosent take away from the fact that he is still OVERALL the best at what he does....

  • Walmart is not on the fed pay roll. Thats a bad example. NASA does do a great job. The fact that no government or privite industry has done better is proof. To say mediocrity you would have to compair them to someone thats done it better. Since you cant because no one else has I would say they do a damn good job. Your talking about space. A place we humans were not meant for. There will be mistakes.

  • There is a federal statutes for training. Its why cops in the country are given the same training of cops in the citys. Even though the type of crime they most liky run into is diffrent. Example I used to live in a small state with vitually no minorities. Even though it has no minorities cops still had to takes courses on discrimination and how to deal with minorities. Thats just one example. And yes FBI can give orders to police. Mostly when they demand the police hand over info.

  • oh yeah, Europe is a real Utopia, a real Haven of individual freedoms and liberty. America was never designed or set up to be run by a central power. That's why federal programs don't work. It has nothing to do with Americans being morons, the only morons are the politicians that don't understand the system and try to change it. And the morons who go along with them.

  • Also NASA does a great job? They have lost two space shuttles, the Mars Polar-Lander that crash-landed because they programmed the on-board computer wrong. Of 38 launches from Earth in an attempt to reach the planet, only 19 succeeded, a success rate of 50%.

And $650 million to repair the Hubble telescope because they put the lens in backwards?

    More like mediocrity then success.
