Please subscribe to Naztazia's channel! This is a how-to tutorial on how to crochet the tunisian crochet stitch - also known as the afghan stitch - using a special crochet hook called an afghan hook. The stitch creates a look that is a combination of both knitting and crocheting. If you are looking to make a large blanket, you can purchase a "flexible afghan hook" that can hold 200+ stitches.

I want to make a large blanket for a full size bed, but I have only have the 14 inch hooks. How would we do this for the size blanket I'm trying to make? Thank you

Hello! In the video at :29 it mentions to use a "flexible afghan hook" if you want to make a larger-sized blanket. It's in smaller gray letters but I promise to put it in larger red font today to make it easier to see :) These can easily hold 200+ stitches.

The hook I'm using is an aluminum afghan hook. They do come in all sorts of other materials as well (bamboo, plastic, etc)

I think i stitch too tight.. i started doing this last night.. trying to make a blanket for my son.. but as i made it to the second row of the stitch i think i did it too tight.. for an afghan does it have to be loose? does looser make it softer?

Love your work... Could you do a tutorial on Color Change in Tunisian Crochet. Both short and long color change. Maybe a picture of a small cross or something to that effect. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and time. Gracias!

I am making a scarf out of some yarn this way, But the ends keep curling up. Am I doing something wrong?

I could be wrong, and I realize this comment is a year old but someone else might wonder too, but you should do it tighter. I believe she did it loose in the example so it would show up better on video. :)

On your foundation chain, try going through the back and top loop instead of just the top loop :)
