This is what is left of 84 tall yellow pine trees that once grew in a yard a few doors down from our house. The county will come by with their scoop truck and haul these away to a landfill or convert it into mulch. These are the types of trees that produce turpentine, one of the early products of the great State of Florida. Heidi, Big 'D's Great Dane, is staying clear of these because of the pine sap that is seeping from each log. There are companies that will actually buy trees like this to convert into lumber but it has to be about 20 feet long before it is useful to them. I guess this stuff will sit here for another week before the county removes it.
