I guess for each is their own. Short of singing speed metal or punk, Michael McDonald can pull off everything else. It does sound a bit odd since Fagen isn't singing. I still think it's a good rendition.

I like Mike McDonald as a singer and artist, but in my opinion this song is in way to high of a register for his voice. It would sound much better in a lower key better suited to fit his voice........
