Original airdate: March 1, 1985. Big Bird goes to the movies with Bob and David, but also invites Mr. Snuffleupagus along; noise and complaints ensue. (Snuffy still hasn't officially been revealed as real, though that will change next season... :-) ) Later that day, Big Bird becomes obsessed with counting backwards--urging everyone to learn it in school. Other notable highlights:

* Song/Cartoon: A Carmen Miranda parody named Fruta Manzana sings about the health benefits of fruit.
* Live film: Italian-style dance music (written by Joe Raposo) plays as pizza is made.
* Biff (without Sully, for once!) helps Salvador Dada by hanging numbers under some abstract paintings in a museum.
* Song/cartoon: "Ten Turtles" (original version; Bud Luckey)
* Grover demonstrates "heavy" and "light", with some unexpected help from Big Bird,
* Song: "Street Garden Cooperation"
* Cartoon: a girl thinks about the consequences of popping a balloon near her friend
* Bert and Ernie explore an Egyptian pyramid together, discovering two unusual statues
* Live film: A teacher demonstrates rhythm by clapping and dancing in time to her pupils' names.
* Cartoon: A man regrets teaching his dog to read the word "sit".
* Oscar teaches the Grouchketeers some Grouch nursery "rhymes" which DON'T actually rhyme, much to Gordon's annoyance.
* Cartoon: Consonant Sound (H for Horse poem)
* Maria acts out the word "cold", Charlie Chaplin-style
* Ernie bothers Bert with disguises, until Bert mistakes a real intruder for Ernie
* Cartoon: Crayon Animation Letter D
* Muppet sketch: "Is this the D train?"
* Music/celebrity: Dizzy Gillespie plays "Birk's Works"
* "Three of These Kids" (upside-down girl)
* Animation: Geometry of Circles (color-wheel sections spin off corresponding large circles)
* Film: Dune buggy assembles itself in fast motion while Dixieland music plays
* Cartoon: Problems on the road illustrate rhymes for "car"
* Bullying monsters spy Grover carrying a flute--but then invite him to play a classical piece with them

  • I have a question for you hoopersghost, where did you upload the episodes of Sesame Street?

  • @411jvg: If you mean where I DOWNloaded them (got them in the first place)...mostly from file-sharing sites and trading with other collectors.

  • @hoopersghost EXACTLY WHAT WEBSITE DO YOU MEAN "FILE-SHARING SITES"? WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE WEBSITE YOU DOWNLOADED THE EPISODES OF SESAME STREET FROM? YOU KNOW, UM "FILE-SHARING SITES"?

  • @411jvg: I can't post any links here because YouTube would reject the comment automatically. If you send me your e-mail address in a private message, though, I can send you an invite code to the site where I got most of my collection.

  • That's Jim Henson as Salvador Dada, right?

  • @alexeidarling: According to Muppet Wiki, that voice is indeed Henson's,

  • This is a cool song, the guy with the leather jacket and black hair looks like Kirmit and sounds abit like Oscer the grouch.

  • Thanks so much for uploading these! I'm not picky, I just really enjoy seeing them whenever they come ;)

  • @hoopersghost HOW CAN I DO THAT?

  • @grapebuy789: Especially since almost no one else on the street accepts Snuffy as real; poor Big Bird gets blamed for his buddy's being loud and clumsy.

  • Oscar should of splashed BB with dirty muddy water for counting backwards into his can and the adultys should of tied his beak up for that.
