  • Can someone please explain me when they made this song? I can't find it in any of their albums, and this song is for sure, too good to be be on an E.P. =)

  • this was recorded before new moon, in 2008. its not any albums, there's a new moon version, but its not the same, they may re-record it for a non album single in the future

  • How to make this song perfect:

Piano arrangement from New Moon version + Original lyrics from Live versions

Some rumours about the band going to re-record the song in the future have been going around. Please dear Lord let them be true...

  • i think if they record it will be more like the live verison then the new moon verison. New Moon Verison should really have credited as Tom Smith not as editors. there was a 15 second preview on there website on the run up to the 3rd album which was a full band verison of this song, so it has been recorded

  • It makes me more than a little nauseous to know that this song will be associated with twilight.

What about Cormac Mccarthy's masterpiece "The Road", which was what No Sound But the Wind was originally based on?

  • I must say, both versions are great. This version, makes you think, and smile, and is more upbeat. But the New Moon version makes you love. You can feel the love in it. And there is no better version of the song, it's the same song, but the same people. And both versions make you feel it.

  • I really like the New Moon version - I enjoyed those soundtracks a lot and I am glad I discovered this song and The Editors through them, but I wish they hadn't changed the meaning of the song. Especially because this song was written for The Road and a lot of the good lyrics, especially the title, and some of the melodies in this version that I really like were lost in the New Moon version.

  • Hate to say this...but I think the New Moon version sounds more beautiful. I quite like it actually.

  • Joy Division?

  • @uefajim

I have no idea where the song originally comes from, but this is a recording from their set at Rock Werchter 2009. Great concert in the rain. This version in my opinion is 100 times better than the version they have released from Werchter 2010.

  • I want proper studio version NOW!

  • @DawnTike Is that true about this song's association with 'The Road'?

  • I like the new instrumental version best, but these lyrics are so superior !

  • I think i like the new moon one better, lolz.... The new moon one is more like a love song & the original is more rock... I love both but i prefer the second version. XD

  • just wanted to let you kow this is horrible.
