Cliff Jumping on the Current River. The 1st few are the same from a very short distance into pretty deep water (10ft.). The last cliff is much higher into shallower water (8ft), Plus having to jump over a sheet of rock 1 ft. below the surface. My feet hit hard followed by my legs and my ass! It hurt but is was FUN!
i was born and raised on this river. nothing better. ive jumped off every cliff/bridge in shannon county.

@ohiobill2 If you don't have the balls to do it, then don't complain about it. People are having fun. 100 years ago there weren't laws like that. 50 years ago, or 20 years ago as well. Its called bureaucracy.. laws like this are only put in place so the state can make money, dumbshit. I bet you voted for Obama didn't you.

i just got back from the current river yesterday and people were still jumping cliffs. Just because they made it illegal doesn't mean we aren't going to do it lol. They also cut the ropes hanging from the trees. It's pretty rediculous how the government tries to control just about everything

Yup, illegal and stupid. See the park's website:
nps.gov/ozar/parknews/controlling-rowdiness-on-the-rivers.htm
check the last bit of red text. Every year people are paralyzed or killed, not to mention the floaters being harrassed by folks "cannon-balling" into the water right next to them. Rude, stupid and yes, illegal. That includes Alley, Flying W and Pin Oak.

I jumped off that cliff last year; was fun as hell and I didn't get hurt. Then again I was pretty drunk. Floating the current again in a week, can't wait. Not sure if I'm gonna jump the cliff again though.

@7KAYJAY7 Yup, illegal, federal offense, since you are in a national park everywhere along either the Jacks or Current River.
