A few years ago, wildlife photographer Howard Cheek didn't even own a camera. He wasn't a big gardener. But in 2008, The Nature Conservancy awarded him Photo Winner of the Year.
See what inspired him to get behind the camera and create a certified Backyard Habitat in Kempner, Texas with wife Mary. Get his tips for photographing wildlife in your own backyard.
Awesome!!! You make small town Texans proud!

Howard this is great! There are a lot fantastic in this. I'll have to rewatch it a few times.
Great idea on the backgrounds, especially using a lighter color to help with the light.
Also, the manual prefocus on things like butterflys is a great tip, and one I plan to remember and use. I've had a few times I can remember where this would have helped.
It was great to see your yard and surroundings. Your idea of bringing the wildlife to you is fantastic.
