Same thing with an abusive parental figure or dictator. If they haven't caught you half past blind then you'll be beaten into formation until you quit you're expression of such things. So when you say a respect to THESE authorities, you're defending the pepperspraying of young adults who 'disrespected them' by simply sitting-in on a platform of concrete and dirt. It's like being kicked in the nuts for waring glasses and standing infront of a jock really. Aka, unreasonable.

Good to see you know the pain these people felt. But respect for what authority? If you haven't come across this phenomenon, here's the scoop: Some authortarian figures aren't exactly GOOD. For example, I can't name one person who would disagree that the cracking of a yard stick across the hands of a child in school for spelling Mississippi wrong was a good thing... unless they were the ones cracking the sticks, but that's aside the point.
