  • Who ever created the sets did a POOR job in the outline of the ship. The James Cameron 1997 movie is a much more accurate film and production than this. I have the DVD and it has 100% detail of the ship and the camera has filmed many areas flooding when the ship sank. Which is wshat happens when a ship sinks. Everything floods.

  • @Streetcar1743 It's an amatuer production. We don't have the money to build a James Cameron set let alone have the space to build it.

  • The guy who plays Andrews is PHENOMENAL. Who is he, where is he now? I saw the closing performance on Broadway (I was so lucky to get those tickets!), and this production is pretty good, I think.

  • He is Mark Adamson from Northern Ireland. If you do a search on YouTube you'll find other videos of him.

  • You obviously are clueless on musical theatre. Musicals are not about characters randomly "bursting into song". Music heightens emotion and represents that characters inner feelings. The characters aren't actually singing in that situation, they can no longer express their emotion in the spoken word. Most musical theatre is very powerful, strong and emotional, not cheesy fluff.

  • Have you even seen this play?! The music is wonderful and it is very accurate to what happened on board the Titanic, unlike the movie version.

  • @Streetcar1743 Perhaps you had better do your own research rather than relying solely on a film that changed the details if they weren't dramatic enough - there was a black family aboard, travelling in second class, Juliette and Joseph Laroche.

  • @edwardjosephoshea That is true. You really can't have water on the stage. Now I have never been to the musical though, but I wonder if they did use some classical pieces in the play. Because at the time when the ship ran, classical music was just about all there was.

  • @Streetcar1743 Regardless of budget - its a PLAY, on a STAGE, not a movie.....

  • @Streetcar1743 and that's the difference between a billion dollar movie and a live theatrical production....

  • @itsactor24601 RUBBISH!!! I have the DVD that was based upon the 1997 James Cameron film. He went down to the wreck in a mini-sub. Did the creator of this play go down to the wreck? I have seen the DVD and it covers much more than this play would ever catch. The movie even features the elevators or lifts that once ran from boat deck level down to E deck. And they were manually driven. Back then, they didn't even allow blacks to cross the ocean onboard that ship.
