I cant understand what all the Falun Gong fuss is about anyway. Falun Gong seems to be a very peaceful activity !! Why would the Chinese Government want to prevent it ? As usual, the Chinese Government shuffle the publicity under the carpet and beat up the protesters !!

I also agree that some western governments have screwed around with other countries and messed them up. The UK and the US are typical examples. Their leaders have made some terrible mistakes in recent years, and internally there are all sorts of govmt bullying going on. In the UK, local govmts say that human rights are "qualified", which means they can be ignored if the govmt so chooses. The only difference is the way in which the bullying happens. In China its very physical.

Chinese are very smart people. It will be interesting to see what happens. I hope whatever happens there is no loss of life as that would be terrible. I suppose it is only a matter of time before China becomes a democracy, but how that transition actually happens is anyones guess.

All I concerning is a strong economy.

With money, everything becomes possible.

Americans capable to mess around all over the world because they used to have the most money. So they could build up enormous military power and using this influence by putting puppet leaders all over the world.

If China wants to achieve what the USA had achieved, Chinese MUST focus on strengthening their economy.

I would agree with you to a certain point because what use is any government if you cant make a decent living. The problem I have ( I live in China and have done so for the past 16 years ) is that people have limited freedom (eg not allowed more than one child ). If one does, then there are serious penalties by government authorities. Ive seen it happen and its very sad. The Chinese government are bullies. But then again, they are in the UK and the US too !! Just not quite as much..

NMA, your recipe left out an ingrident - a dash of Falun Gong nutjobs calling for the protest.

Read the original protest manifesto, it asks people to not leave trash behind. This is a Falun Gong calling card. The only other time in China's history clean-up was called for after a mass incident, is the 1999 Falun Gong protest.
