To answer your question there is nothing wrong with giving. But to make people feel guilty for not doing so is wrong. Also, I don't tithe because that was done with the sacrificial law.

very true video. i went to church 1 time and the pastor asked for tithes 17 times. he even said that if you dont give you will go to hell. God's people suffer from a lack of wisdom God's laws and covenant.

Tithing is simply about the principle of giving to support the community you claim membership to. If you look to the ORIGINAL model of tithing, they collected grain and foodstuffs to feed the temple community during times of lack.

That looks nothing like the perversions you see on TV today, and the principle of supporting the community that serves you is no less valid for it. The light bill must be paid; the rent and or mortgage and property taxes must be taken care of, and by whom?

the old testament teaching on tithes shows that the poor were not required to pay a tithe. nor the widow, fatherless or stranger(Gentile) the tithe was part of the old atonement, Jesus is now our atonement. tithes were part of Levitcal/Mosaic law for Israel. people please study the bible in CONTEXT.

@chazaqkabad Why is making them feel guilty about disobedience wrong? The church makes people feel guilty for all manner of disobedience (adultery, homosexuality, drinking,) so doesn't it make sense that tithing should fall under that rule?
