International panel discusses the importance of both targeted actions to reduce emissions and partnership opportunities between developed and developing state and provincial governments at the 2008 Global Climate Summit. Such targeted actions can take the form of technology transfer, best practices sharing, and market-based approaches to reducing emissions or other actions that provide mutually beneficial outcomes. Series: "Governors' Global Climate Summit" [Science] [Show ID: 15708]
@TheEngineer801 Also Pickens has 3 billion in windmills that he wants to sell for 1/2 price. Green is good on a small scale. I use solar PV all the time. Still , not worth the cost. Not going to make jobs in the US. Not for many years to come. If ever. Dont get me wrong - I like green, but green that works.

But the jobs will not come to America. I can buy any green cheaper any day of the week from China. Every day any day. Jobs will not come to America with China making it far cheaper then we. China has all green jobs, not America. Not for many years to come. It is not new. If it were true- the jobs would be here now.

@showaltermicro Could you elaborate?

@rzrbckgrl You do realize that "climate gate" was not real, It's what's called a false flag and avoids the real issue. Who hacked into the servers? Six committees investigated the allegations and published reports, finding no evidence of fraud or scientific misconduct.

@rzrbckgrl Defeat corporate media outlets whose business is driven by profit not journalistic duty. Defeat the corruption of government by big corporations. Defeat small mindedness and short shortsightedness. Defeat the degradation of our culture and collective mind. Defeat denial and cowardice in the face of real problems. Defeat greed. Defeat the disdain for science and nature. Defeat living ones life complaining instead of taking personal responsibility. Defeat ignorance.

@rzrbckgrl Why should Obama be defeated? Because you watch too much TV and don't actually know what's going on in Washington DC? Have you ever read one single bill that was up for vote? Or do you think that FOX is going to tell you all you need to know? I think we should defeat ignorance, apathy, and lack of participation in our democracy. I think we should defeat fear mongering, hate, and corporations who lie for money.

@sugarpuddin88 Many Americans are very pro-science. After all, we would not have a modern life without it. It's science that gives us electricity, science that gives us food, and science that gives us all the gifts of a technological civilization. All the negativity surrounding the global warming debate we see is just flawed logic, fear, denial, and simple greed. The average consumer is vulnerable to fear mongering by polluter industries, and those industries are vulnerable fear of profit loss.

@sugarpuddin88 I have this book from the 60s, titled "Anti-Intellectualism in American Society". If you can find a copy I recommend it.. Because it tells me as a 30 something science major that, ignoring and being opposed to truth and reality is not a new phenomenon in America. While China and India are putting out the most graduates in science and engineering in the world the US has fallen behind. I think that is reflected in our current culture of entertainment, and ignorance.

@showaltermicro "3rd world"? Could you tells us what you mean? Are you saying creating new and innovative industries and bringing millions of new jobs to the US is a bad thing?
TheEngineer801 6 months ago
@rzrbckgrl "Liars"? How so? Are you saying that inanimate devices, the instruments and methods used to gather measurements/data on the history of and current state of the climate are "lying"? Are you saying that the hundreds of thousands of scientists, around the world are "lying" about the results of their tests and research? And do you believe that icecores taken from the Arctic, which are 600,000+ years old. and give a window into the past are capable of "lying"? That's funny.
