GOD WILLING begins with a letter: Dear Family, I've gone off with the missionaries, the bearded ones remember? To serve the Lord. Don't fill out a missing person's report. The Lord comes first. Daniel. GOD WILLING is the story of Sandi and Marsha, two moms who join forces to find their daughters in the streets of Seattle. Seven years ago their daughters joined the Jim Roberts Group, a nomadic Christian cult also known as the Garbage Eaters, The Church and The Brethren. They have not seen them since. Their daughters, believing they are on the path to salvation, have abandoned all their worldly possessions including their family: If any man come to me and hate not his father, and mother, and wide, and children, and brethren and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

GOD WILLING is a co-production of About Time Productions and the Independent Television Service (ITVS), in association with Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB) and KNME/New Mexico PBS with funding provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

  • I spent several years with them & some of this is true & some is simply misunderstood.

  • I think we should learn from the brothers and sisters in this video who are trying to die to themselves and serve YAHVEH.Be slow to judge them based

    Upon the parents perspective alone.

  • @miabelara Not every member of JRG is told to cut off ties. But I do agree that this should not be the standard protocol. Jesus made it clear that we must be willing to forsake all, including family and friends. A new believer might have to have a season of separation but eventually they should be able to face whatever Satan throws at them. Usually the family and friends are the ones that forsake the Christian because they love darkness and do not want to be near light.

  • @TheCoffeeshopguru Sorry, I forgot to come check this and did not see your response here. You asked "What did I assume that was incorrect?" You were saying you think it is sad that "scary old Garbage eating cult brothers trying to brainwash and lure good kids from their loving families". That is an assumption. Do you know any of these people personally? Your comment is based on what was said in this video (I am assuming you watched the video?); only getting one side. You need the other side too.

  • @miabelara It's all but possession? If you love someone you let go. If they stay, fine. If not, fine too. God sets people free, and happily done out of true love. If the genetic family lived by what's true do you think the kids would stick close? Except to marry and conjugate privately >YES! God made humans that way. Yet, almost all people IGNORE, never testing what Jeshua taught. But not the Brethren, they know by embracing all of it. Seems the kids are adult and the adults are but kids! Awful.

  • I was in a "cult" similar to this one for about 7 years - my phone calls with family were monitored, and contact with old friends was prohibited, I was invited to leave often in fact I had to plead and plead and plead to stay. I loved God and the group served me in that I had support to believe as I wished. I visit often with family and friends now, but I strongly disagree - THESE ARE ADULTS - essentially they are their own people - the prophet is just a concept really, just "there" to be used

  • uh.. . maybe its different in that they r not following JESUS, idiot.

  • @matthew7vs13and14 What did i assume that was incorrect?I said what is correct.

  • @TheCoffeeshopguru You are making a lot of assumptions.

  • @matthew7vs13and14 Actually i find it sad that ,there are scary old Garbage eating cult brothers trying to brainwash n lure good kids from there loving familys.2.That these kids never want to come back home tearing apart there parents n good familys.Thats sad.
