See www.prv.com for a Channel 7 News story video on the technology (or can view it under HundredMilTechnology channel on YouTube), and see the prototype in action. This is a plural patent-protected sensing technology with potential applications in: Gaming (stomps Wii w/Virtual Controls & Virtual Ghosts); Health & Fitness (collect workout metrics automagically); Music (virtual keyboards); Computer Add-Ons (virtual keyboard for PDAs such as iPaq and iPhone, "foot mouse" for desktops so can leave hands on keyboard); Adaptive Equipment for the Disabled, and MORE.

MORE INFO available on request: Scenario2.doc describes a VCAML-enabled computer game and is AWESOME!; PowerPoint presentation with NDA/CDA.

The future is: using a PDA DEVICE SUCH AS THE iPHONE WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. Imagine a piece of sloppy pizza in hand and sending text messages without using a stylus and without wear and tear and mess to a touch screen. No more tiny keyboards either.

Merely the motion of your hand through the air is converted into computer commands.

  • You should see the scenario document I shared with Microsoft two years ago. Looks strikingly like the Natal YouTube mockups all over the place... Can send you a copy if you like.

  • How expensive is this technology?

  • Many applications. Short answer, the base technology is extremely cheap. For the handicapped, for example it puts a totally customizable interface that can be adapted to severe and unique disabilities, in reach.

  • That is actually a pretty awesome example, and I look forward to yours or similar gizmos gaining popularity. An ambiguous interface definitely deserves some recognition.

The reason for the question however was because I'm experimenting with an interface for entertainment purposes. It needs to be cheap if it is going to be bought by the mass market. This technology could be useful considering how reliable it seems to be, but it needs to be cheap relative to a console.

  • Guess what? VR Gaming is one of the coolest apps for this technology (there are a number of market segments). Write directly, and I can send you a Scenario document of what a "VCAML-enabled" game would look like. Prepare to be amazed. Seeking licensees for the technology in a variety of fields.

  • can you sned me a doc of a VCAML-enabled game please?

  • You bet, just give me an email (not seeing how to attach a file to a youtube email). Feel free to write to this channel if you want to keep your addy private. AND PREPARE TO BE AMAZED.
