"Music in the Sphere" is a film project which attempts to experiment with music visualization. Inspired by Kubilay Uner music; track 06 Master of Buzzes and Hum,
a particular program is invented to analyze music from audio file or real-time performance and match each note with various colors based on color music theory; ex C=red, E=yellow, etc...Therefore, this would create a visualization of music base on my programming expression, not just one, but two layers of different types of visualization from the same piece of music on top of one another.

  • I think the main obstacle to music visualization is the visual representation of rhythm. A swinging pendulum is a good visual example of rhythm. One needs to anticipate the upcoming rhythm. Flashing or quickly changing shapes looks cool but doesn't really visualize the music.
