In "Monty Python: Almost The Truth", on the subject of the Graham Chapman's alcoholism, Eric Idle tells a story of arriving at Lake Pahoe to film his small part in this sketch. "I remember going once up to Scotland for a take. We were filming up in Glencoe. And I got there and I met the Special Effects man on the train, got shit-faced and we were drunk and I slept all day the next day and I got up and they still hadn't done the first take of Graham with Lake Pahoe. They'd done 43 slates.
"For starters, why do the senior personel all bare the names of Hollywood film stars of the 40's and female ones at that. Shiver me timbers, 'tis the black spot!"
100 Rads on the 100 Point Radical Rating System! Perfect! -This is wonderful! This is one of my favorite Monty Pythons. It's SO SILLY! -This video is something other than else! -What's really great is all the Pythons get into it. GIlliam does the Can Ya Dig It cartoon. Cleese turning into a pirate, Palin and Idle as Hippie Dudes, Jones as the straight interviewer, and Chapman as the modern improved Nay-Vee Captain. -Also, behind them, they're packing the goofiest stuff into the van.
