OMG... this voice is horrible.
It´s good news though that google has improved its android- accessibility....

@EyesFreeAndroid will it only work the first time new out of box? because i have the new asus android prime and it didn't work :(
-
is it possible to enlarge the text rather than use the screen reader?
-
how would you text using this? or use the keyboard? it would be cool if u could show that to on this phone.
-
Will there be an option to shut off the backlight to extend battery life? Add in an easy gesture combination to toggle it back on?

Very cool, audio feedback for the list scrolling was very interesting. One thing I noticed though, the reader doesn't make a distinction between elements. The country selector wasn't identified as a select list, neither the icons as apps or anything else, the button was spoken as if it was a label and so on.

does anyone know if this is available for the honeycomb tablets out now? I found the talk back feature, but it doesn't preform the same function.

@EyesFreeAndroid If it only took a day to transcribe the video to caption it, why weren't the captions added BEFORE the video went live? It's another example of accessibility being considered AFTER the fact. No matter the type of EIT, nothing should be released until it's fully accessible to everyone - anything less is second class treatment.

Siri Voice lol

@fawazar94 Yes but if Google is going to start in Apple model like making device and software all by them-self, then we are at a risk
Are there captions for this? don't see any and so so so important!

@siglmgga captions are up now. Thanks to Claude for transcribing them on a weekend!

My question is simply this. From which screen can accessibility be turned on using that gesture? Can it be done as soon as one turns on the phone?
VideoGuyNC 3 months ago
@VideoGuyNC yes, the gesture to turn on accessibility works as soon as you turn the phone on for the first time.
