Rose Kennedy interview in 1974. This interview was made in Palm Beach, Florida, where the Kennedy's would go during the cold months of the year. So I surmise this was in the Spring of 1974.

  • I believe that having daughter Rosemary lobotomized was just as terrible as their precious son being shot and killed. Humanity at its worst. Joe Kennedy was no better than the assassin.

  • If you'd read some history on the family Rose did everything possible to help her mentally challenged daughter. It was her husband Joe Kennedy, who during a time when Rose was away from home, who had a lobotomy performed on Rosemary that left her so deblitated she needed roung the clock care. It was believed this was done without Rose's knowledge and she was devastated by the results. Educate yourself.

  • @AdArmand Lobotomy was a new procedure, that he believed would help. Turns out it didn't.

  • LOL...yeah his back was 'injured during the war'. Apparently Europe is plagued with Addison's Disease.

  • Rosemary Kennedy was, to use the terminology of the time, mentally retarded. Rose Kennedy used that exact term in her autobiography to describe her daughters condition. Ever heard of the Special Olympics? Why do you think the Kennedy's started an event for mentally challenged individuals? Because their lives had been touched by such a person- Rosemary.

  • @1timysand

How can you said that? And you consider yourself to be an educated person? Rosemary was not mentally challenged at all, my friend, educate yourself.

  • There is something about her I just don't like.JFK was okay, but her ughhhh

  • I LOVED it when she said;" To think...I was the mother." Her voice quivered after she said that. I thought that was a truly wonderful statement. :)

  • God Bless the Kennedy family!

  • I don't care whether or not you liked JFK, no mother should have to bury their child or sadly in this case children. It's supposed to be the other way around.

    Truly fucked up.

  • @Messylin she didn't know until AFTER the surgery. Read

  • @1timysand Correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
