Gov't Bashing Overtakes Football

Simplicity is so attractive that we sometimes choose it even when the truth is more nuanced and complex. For me, government bashing falls into this category. In the fever pitch of "independence," many are shouting against government at every turn, espousing that if we were just left alone, all would be well in the world. The world isn't so black and white and the "free market" really doesn't exist, not because of government, but because of tremendous imbalances of power and influence.
