The song has absolutely nothing to do with any God or religion. It's about freeing yourself of past hurts, because until you let go you can only 'see' the pain in life and will continue to experience it. 'Let all of the hurt inside of you die...your frozen when your hearts not open'. The lyrics are rather self explanatory.
