The 2009 Tuscola Mountaineers improved to 2-1-1 on September 18, 2009 as they defeated the previously undefeated R-S Central Hilltoppers 34-21. Austin H. Chambers (#23), Tyler Brosius, and Eric Nelson were standout players in what was overall a great team effort. Alan Sitton also came up with a "nail in the coffin" interception that gave the Mountaineers a 2 touchdown lead in the 4th quarter.
