SBS Ident - Aboriginal
Director: Iloura Design
Production Co.:iloura
Agency: US Sydney
In a new brand campaign by US Sydney, for SBS Television, animated stings featuring the human brain have been developed to engage the networks thinking audience.
Building on the current Six Billion Stories campaign, the idents have been formed by combining culturally diverse sound bites with compelling motion graphics.
The diverse styles of the graphics range from organic hand-drawn illustrations to futuristic 3D models and all have the central motif of a human brain.
The hero brain creatively conveys the way in which the brain organically engages with exciting stimulus and media.
Stephen Van Elst, Head of iloura Design explains: US Sydney developed this interesting concept, with foundations in sound. True to the core of the creative, they searched for motion design partners who could create diverse graphics and were very open to ideas. My team were thrilled by the faith Josh Moore [Creative Director, US Agency] and his team had in us, they allowed our own brains to fire off in six billion directions and encouraged us to develop a range of styles, that both challenged and complimented our skill base. It is a rare treat to work on a job like this and we are all extremely happy with the results.
Nathan Bell, Senior Account Director at US Sydney commented that: The combination of a brave Client, and a world-class design house, has resulted in a distinctive and highly engaging brand campaign and we couldnt be more proud. No other network in Australia could carry this off, and people are already talking.
The campaign launches nationally in the first week of June. To view iloura's work please visit: http://www.iloura.com.au

@goocharooboy Sir Douglas Nicholls, an Aboriginal pastor, athlete, and former Governor of South Australia said it in his sermon. I found the quote on this page, but you'll have to search for "suggest" in your browser because the page has the entire transcript of an episode of an ABC program regarding Aboriginal matters.

I really love this Ident, dude. It's beautiful and sad, and the fairly low key graphics just let the lovely audio do the emotional weight lifting. Really nice and worthy of its aim.
