Raziel
-Kain is deified. The Clans tell tales of Him. Few know the truth. He was mortal once, as were we all. However, His contempt for humanity drove him to create me, and my brethren.
I am Raziel, first-born of His lieutenants. I stood with Kain and my brethren at the dawn of the empire. I have served Him a millennium. Over time, we became less human and more ...divine. Kain would enter the state of change and emerge with a new gift. Some years after the master, our evolution would follow. Until I had the honor of surpassing my lord. For my transgression, I earned a new kind of reward... agony.

There was only one possible outcome - my eternal damnation. I, Raziel, was to suffer the fate of traitors and weaklings - to burn forever in the bowels of the Lake of the Dead.

@goodraz2000 In the original storyline, each lieutenant had their own clan, and the clan members would evolve the way their leaders would - a clan of flying vampires could pose a huge threat to the current regime. Kain didn't just kill Raziel - he had his entire clan wiped out.

Soul Reaver 1 was rushed to fill a deadline - the original story has nothing to do with the sequels. Raziel was supposed to actually kill Kain and restore balance to the world. Seriously, look it up. Check out the Lost Worlds website.

@virtuamask That's actually not true of the first story. They retconned a lot of stuff in the sequels that weren't supposed to follow. Soul Reaver 1 wasn't completed - it was basically half the game it was meant to be. You can still find different voice acting left on the original PS1 disc using old programs like XA2Wav or xaplay - you can hear alternate endings, hear Raziel talk to characters that were removed from the game - all kinds of stuff.

no ,kain had no choice but to do this it was fate kain needed raziel to be cast into the abyss to get closer to the elder god so kain could fulfill his part of sion of balance and restore peace to Nosgoth

Well if you dont know -_- The reason he got his wings torn off was because kain was jealous that Raziel got blessed with wings so kain ripped the bones from them and threw him in .. I know it sounds stupid they just cast aside this brother that has been with them from the beginning

kain was jelous because raziel had ivolved before him and was stronger, so kain tried to kill him.

this was my favourite game growing up.

Raziel got better or something and Kain didn't like that.
