Galway City (Trad. Irish)
NOTES ON THIS SONG
This is a traditional Irish tune. Perhaps not as well known as some of the other Irish folk standards but a neat little tune nonetheless. The "mouth music" during the chorus being an element which makes it fun to sing along with.
The song is written in the two-voices tradition were there is some call and response between the male character and the female character. It would be neat to have a male and female singer do this one together, if I had more time with my better half maybe some time we'll give it a shot together.
Not sure how this one came out, this is based off a variant performance by Ryan's Fancy ( ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mE9aKK2VOP8 ... ) and I haven't had a lot of time to experiment with this tune but I am liking how it came together, what do you think?
Cheers.
