The 19th APEC Leaders' Meeting in Hawaii formally started with a dinner hosted by U.S President Barrack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the historic Hale Koa hotel. As the current chair of the APEC summit, President Obama delivered an opening statement before the traditional ceremonial toast emphasizing that this year's gathering of the APEC leaders bring economies closer together, to cooperate, to create jobs and prosperity. He added that as a "single ohana" or one family, APEC economies have the same hopes, struggles and aspiration.
