舟唄 (Funa-Uta) -- Teresa Teng & Yashiro Aki

Please enjoy a Japanese original song, "舟唄 (Funa-Uta)", meaning "Boat Song", originally sung by 八代亜紀 (Yashiro Aki). I combined two songs sung separately by Teresa Teng and Yashiro Aki. This song is basically a man's song.
浜圭介 (Hama Keisuke) composed the song, and 阿久悠 (Aku Yuu) wrote the lyrics.

The following are the Japanese lyrics, with my English translation.

(I prefer lukewarm Osake (Japanese wine))

Wonderful combination video of Teresa and Yashiro. This piece is slightly different ENKA tune.It's unique melody and the lyrics.(Funa-Uta)Is it common to sing man's song sung by female singer in Japan and vice versa?Beautiful enka anyway.

Every singers have their own way and personality to express the emotions of same songs.I can understand the differences between Teresa's and Yashiro's versions.This video is telling us there are many versions of same song.

This is lovely song, and your video is simply elegant, as usual. I like both renditions very much, Teresa Teng and Yashiro Aki. But guess what? Most familiar version for me is Meiko Kaji's cover of this song. I heard it first many years ago.
